Though no study on basilar artery migraine has ever been published in Korea, we suggest that basilar artery migraine should be treated separately from stroke or other diseases. We here report our recent study that a patient at our hospital has shown significant recovery from basilar artery migraine after receiving oriental medical treatment. The patient received acupuncture on the points of GV20, GV26, GB20, BL10, LI4, SI3, ST36, BL62, KI3, LR3, GB41, CV12, ST40. After 24 days, the patient showed remarkable results: relief or disappearance of pain and accompanying symptoms by over 90% and no reoccurrence, but intermittent headache. Results of the study show that acupuncture and oriental medicine treatment reduce the effects of basilar artery migraine with significantly lower incidence.
