Effect of the Dong Shi Acupuncture Therapy on the Relief of Premenstrual Syndrome and Dysmenorrhea in Female College Students

Abstract
Objectives:This study is to determine the effects of magnetics therapy on the relief of premenstrual syndrome and dysmenorrhea among female college students.

Methods:20 female college students in a university are selected to the experimental group. All of the subjects have the score of more than 6 on the visual analogue scale for measuring the level of premenstrual pain. The data was collected by using questionnaires. The magnetics therapy on the Dong Shi Acupuncture Therapy extra points (ÜþΡ, ü½áµ, ÙÊÜþ, Ú¦ÑÑ) was administered to the experimental group.

Results:The results were as follows. The first hypothesis is supported ; the experimental group who received magnetics therapy on the Dong Shi Acupuncture will decrease premenstrual syndrome. The second hypothesis is supported ; the experimental group who received magnetics therapy on the Dong Shi Acupuncture will decrease dysmenorrhea.

Conclusions :As a result of this study, magnetics therapy on the Dong Shi Acupuncture will be able to be used as the self care therapy to improve the symptoms of females with the premenstrual syndrome and dysmenorrhea.
