Abstract
Objectives: The aim of this study is to find out historical basis of Naengjuk(Ò²îÝ) through comparative study of classical literatures about Oriental medicine and Immuno-Yakchim theory.

Methods: Contents from Immuno-Yakchim theory and classical literature refer to Naengjuk(Ò²îÝ) were analyzed and compared in terms of etiology and position, symptoms, treatment.

Results: 1. The major cause of Naengjuk(Ò²îÝ) is divided into qi deficiency and blood cold(ѨúÈúìùÎ), deficiency cold of spleen-stomach(Þ¡êÖúÈùÎ), and feeling of cold(ìÑô÷Ò²ñø). 2. Naengjuk(Ò²îÝ) is only one of the causes of diseases in the literature. However, it is a source of resistance and a major resistance meridian of constitution of cold(Ò²ô÷òõ) in the Immuno-Yakchim theory. And if it is developed too much, it can be diseases trigger. 3. The position of Naengjuk(Ò²îÝ) is region of solar plexus or below of navel in the literature. However, the regions of Naengjuk(Ò²îÝ) are subdivided variously with navel as its center in the Immuno-Yakchim theory. 4. The pathological symptoms are feeling of cold, pain, and digestive diseases, especially diarrhea, in the literature. However, genital diseases and function of uterus are also included in the pathological symptoms of Naengjuk(Ò²îÝ) in the Immuno-Yakchim theory. 5. Naengjuk(Ò²îÝ) has been treated with warm or heat medicine in the literature. However, Naengjuk(Ò²îÝ) has been treated with cold-acupuncture(Ò²í©öÜ) or Immuno-Yakchim therapy(å·öÝèþÛö) in the Immuno-Yakchim theory.

Conclusions: Naenjuk(Ò²îÝ) of Immuno-Yakchim theory is an advanced concept based on traditional Korean medical theory.
