Abstract

|
Objectives : The purpose of this study is to investigate the clinical application of Mckenzie exercise and muscle energy techniques(MET) to three flat-back posture patients who had Lumbar Disc Herniation.
Methods : Three patients were diagnosed as Straightening of lumbar lordosis and lumbar disc herniation through X-ray and MRI examination. This study was measured by Numerical Rating Scale(NRS), Oswestry Disability Index(ODI) and physical examinations including lumbar spine range of movement, straight leg raising test.
Results : In this study, after the continuous Mckenzie exercise and muscle energy techniques(MET), patient s low back pain was improved.
NRS and ODI were also decreased. And three patients showed significant improvement in physical examinations.
Conclusions : These results suggest that Mckenzie exercise and muscle energy techniques(MET) were effective treatments on patients who had flat-back posture.
