The Study of Patients Visited Korean Medical Clinic in Athletes' Village Hospital at The PyeongChang 2018 Paralympic Winter Games

Abstract
Objective : The purpose of this study was to analyze characteristic of patients visited Korean medical clinic in athletes village polyclinic at the 2018 Paralympic Winter Games and provide basic data for specialization of Korean medicine.

Methods : We investigated 91 cases of patients (athletes, workfoces, volunteers, and IOC, NOC staffs) who had visited Korean medical clinic in athletes village polyclinic at the 2018 Paralympic Winter Games from 9, March 2014 to 18, March 2018.

Results : The total number of patients were 91, percentage of male patients was 59.3%, and Female patients was 40.7%. The average age of male patients who visited Korean medical clinic were 39.51¡¾14.03 years old and that of female patients were 40.35¡¾16.62. There were 61 Korean patients who visited, and the most visited athlets is cross country skiers. Case of Injuries are more than illnesses, pain is the most symptom of injuries. The most locations of injury is head and neck.
The rate of patients who had experienced acupunture treatment was 66. Many patients were treated by acupuncture, Chuna, Cupping, taping therapy and Patients satisfaction point is 5 point out of 171 cases, 4 point out of 28 cases.

Conclusions : In this study, korean medicine positive effect on athletes at the 2018 Paralympic Winter Games.
