Abstract

|
Among men varicocele is a common finding presenting in approximately 15% of the general population. The prevalence is higher among infertile men, affecting about 25% in this population. Although is evident from several point of view that varicoceles are more prevalent among infertile men, it is still under debate about its role in male factor infertility. In this review, the pathophysiology, and association of varicocele with infertility along with the role of varicocele repair in infertility treatment is discussed.
