Abstract
Megaureter is a developmental anomaly of the ureter, which is associated with significant morbidity in children and frequently required surgical intervention. However, not all megaureters are due to obstruction, as some may be the result of reflux and many simply represent a slightly skewed stage of development that can result in a normal urinary tract
if observed. The surgical treatments of megaureter are well established, relatively simple, and effective if performed in the correct candidates. Rarely, upper urinary tract obstruction will be present in conjunction with ureterovesical junction obstruction in cases of primary megatureter. With a brief review of the literatures, we reported one case of primary
obstructive megaureter associated with upper ureteral obstruction.
