Abstract

|
A persistent Gartner’s duct cyst is associated with the failure of separation of the ureteric bud from the mesonephric duct. The abnormal development of the ureter subsequently results in maldevelopment or agenesis of ipsilateral kidney. We present a case of Gartner’s duct cyst with unilateral multicystic dysplastic kidney (MCDK) presented with a vaginal cyst
at the introitus in neonatal period. We initially planned close observation expecting spontaneous regression of the cyst. However, the cyst increase in size and pyuria persisted during a 2 year follow-up period. She simultaneously underwent Gartner’s duct cyst removal and laparoscopic nephrectomy for MCDK.
