Neonatal Priapism in Four Days Newborn

Abstract

|
Neonatal priapism is very rare. We present a preterm newborn whose clinical course of prolonged penile erection was a result of a idiopathic cause. The blood gas analysis of the corpus cavernosum revealed vague results. The priapism disappeared after 17 days of observation and there was no recurrence until now after complete detumescence. At follow-up at 4 months, the patient has had no recurrence.
