Alarm Treatment in Children with Nocturnal Enuresis
Baek Min-Ki

Abstract
Enuresis alarm (EA) is an electronic device used as a treatment option for nocturnal enuresis (NE). The underlying mechanism by which EA improves NE may involve the ability of the central nervous system to inhibit the voiding reflex and increase nocturnal bladder capacity. EA treatment is the most clinically effective measure against NE as its cure rate is higher and its relapse rate is lower than that of any other anti-NE measure. However, EA is a work-intensive treatment including parents¡¯ and child¡¯ motivation and require continuous effort during at least 2-3 months. Proper understanding of EA will improve treatment success of NE.
