Congenital Atypical Mesoblastic Nephroma Detected by Prenatal Ultrasonography

Abstract

|
Congenital mesoblastic nephroma (CMN) is a rare infantile renal tumor and often cured with surgery alone in typical histological type. But, atypical CMN have cellular components and tend to have a poor prognosis. Cellular CMN has a close relationship with infantile congenital fibrosarcoma. Here, the authors report one case of atypical CMN detected by prenatal ultrasonography and recurred after radical nephrectomy. Based on this case, the authors recommend that Vincristine, Actinomycin and Cyclophosphamide chemotherapy should be considered for recurrent CMN containing cellular components.
