Laparoscopic Excision of Mullerian Duct Cyst in 1 Year Old Boy

Abstract

|
Mullerian duct cyst is a rare congenital anomaly caused by an incomplete effect of mullerian inhibiting factor from Sertoli cells that results in incomplete regression of the mullerian duct. Presenting signs and symptoms included urinary retention, lower urinary tract symptoms, abdominal pain and repeated epididymitis. Surgical excision is treatment of choice and recently laparoscopic approach has been recommended. Herein, we report a case of infected mullerian duct cyst presented with episode of epididymitis and treated by laparoscopic excision in 1 year old boy.
