Abstract
Parameatal urethral cyst is a very rare penile congenital anomaly. A 13-year old boy presented with a painless mass on the left side of urethral meatus. It had been recognized since his infancy. On physical examination, the mass about 1.3¡¿0.8 cm in diameter was found at the urethral meatus. There was no history of trauma, local symptoms, or
infection. The diagnosis was made by physical examination alone. Complete surgical excision was performed under general anesthesia. During the excision of the cyst, no external communication with the urethra was noted. Histologically, the cyst wall was lined by transitional epithelium. After the operation, good cosmetic result with no recurrence
was obtained. We think that complete surgical excision may be necessary to obtain good cosmetic result without recurrence.
