Abstract
Because laparoscopic surgery has advantages over open surgery, including less postoperative pain, shorter convalescence and improved cosmesis, it has replaced many gynecologic laparotomy procedures. But, serious complications unique to laparoscopy may occur, including vascular or bowel injury. Stomach injury is a very rare laparoscopic complication in gynecologic field but occasionally occur serious result. In most cases of stomach injury during laparoscopy, the laparoscopic instruments that cause injury are the trocar, Veress needle, grasping forceps or scissors, electrocoagulator, or laser. We experienced one case of stomach perforation during Laparoscopic Assisted Vaginal Hysterectomy (LAVH). We present it with a brief of literature.
