Shiitake dermatitis is a distinctive itchy skin reaction caused by the ingestion of shiitake mushroom (Lentinus edodes). It is characterized by widespread erythematous papules with severe pruritus. The Koebner phenomenon occurs when the patient scratches the skin lesion as a linear grouped erythematous papules and this condition is a specific finding of shiitake dermatitis. The awareness of disease is important because it can be diagnosed with characteristic clinical indings and food history.
