Abstract
Purpose: The purpose of this study was to investigate the relation of clinical practice stress and drinking status in
nursing students. This study attempts to promote a healthier and more fulfilling college life of students by providing some basic information on alcohol intake and related health concerns.

Materials and Methods: The participants were 195 the third year and the fourth year nursing students who have
experienced clinical training in Daegu. A structured questionnaire was used to collect data, and data were analyzed by applying frequency, percentage, average, standard deviation, t-test, one-way ANOVA, Pearson Correlation, and Multiple Regression with IBM-SPSS statistics 19.

Results: Most of the nursing students were under stress due to the clinical practice. The results on the stress score in terms of the characteristics revealed that the students who are very active experienced less stress than the passive ones. And the results indicated that the higher stress score the student has, the more likely they want to drink an alcohol. Furthermore, Among the nursing students with high stress index, there are many who actually drank an alcohol because of the clinical practice stress.

Conclusion: Based on the findings of this study, a healthy way for nursing students to relieve clinical practice stress should be searched for and also, there should be more attempts to resolve clinical practice stress and concerns
involving drinking status of nursing students.
