Nurse’s Satisfaction on the Education Program for Arthritis Self-Management Instructor

Abstract

|
Purpose: The purpose of this study was to assess nurse’s satisfaction on the education program for arthritis selfmanagement instructor.
Methods: The participants consisted of 36 nurses and 1 social worker who voluntarily participated education
program for arthritis self-management instructor. After 16 hours session of the program, participants answered 15
items of questionnaire for program evaluation.
Results: The evaluation indicated that the workshop was thoroughly programmed. Majority of participants were very satisfied with the workshop while they lead group discussions as instructors. The participants particularly wanted a
continued education and advanced level of knowledge on medication. They took advantage of the lectures with
various subjects, and suggested to add more break time between the lectures.
Conclusion: The education program for arthritis self-management instructor became an opportunity for nurses to
acknowledge their roles on educating patients and the importance of educating Arthritis Self-management Instructor.
The program also gave nurses confidence to educate patients.
