A case study of third-generation quinolone antibiotics-induced-dyspepsia treated with Beewha-eum and acupuncture

Abstract

|
Objectives: The purpose of this case study is to report the clinical effects of acupuncture and Korean medicine on antibiotics-induced functional dyspepsia.
Methods: The patient, 79-year-old, who complained about nausea and vomiting after taking antibiotics was treated by acupuncture and Korean medicine. We measured the amount of meals eaten by patient and quantified the degree of nausea she felt.
Results: After the treatment, the symptoms were decreased.
Conclusion: Acupuncture and herb medicine may be effective therapy on antibiotic¡¯s side effects such as nausea and vomit.
