Osteogenic sarcoma of bone is a specialized connective tissue sarcoma that starts in the interior of the affected bone and is distinguished by the formation of neoplastic osteoid and osseous tissue. It is the most common of the primary malignant tumors of bone. It has been subdivided into many catagories, the most generally used being sclerosing, osteolytic, subperiosteal, medullary and telangiectatic type. Optimum therapy for osteogenic- sarcoma is controversial, with primary surgical ablation recommended by some authors and primary radiation therapy followed by surgical ablation recommended by others. ~ ,
The authors experienced massive irregular osteolysis of entire shaft of the femur in 9 years old boy. The lesions of bone that may be confused with hemangiomatosis roentgenographically confirmed osteosarcoma by histologically.
We report a case of curious type of osteosarcoma and review of literature.
