¢¥Three mammalian neuropeptide, SP, NKA and NKB,I belong to a family of peptides known as tachykinins`-which share the common sequence Phe-X-Gly-Leu-Met NH2. These novel peptides possess a commom spectrum of biological activities including a sensory transmission in nervous system and contractions/relaxation of ::4 peripheral smooth muscles. This review will describe " recent knowledges and trends on the biological activity, biosynthesis, release, distribution, receptor and antagonist of these tachykinin peptides.
