Abstract
Paraquat is a widely used herbicide, which was originally introduced in the Uneted Kingdom in 1958. Acute paraquat poisoning has usually followed the oral ingestion of 20 to 40% solutions of herbicide, and ingestion of very small amounts of paraquat has associated with a fatal outcome.
I had one case of acute paraquat poisoning whose clinical course was very typical as described in few reports of acute paraquat poisoning and treated with forced diuresis and CAPD:
Therapeutic response to forced diuresis and CAPD was remarkable with subsidence of general symptoms, ¢¥improovement of hepatic and renal function.
But, mild dyspneic symptom with pulmonary fibrosis are noted during admission and OPD folio up.
