Abstract

The proliferations of splenocytes from CBA mice sensitized with live M3aobacterium tuberculosis, heat-killed M. tuberculosis, UV-killed M. tuberculosis, or M. bovis BCG were compared after reinfection with M. tuberculosis and following results were obtained
1. The optimal concentration ranges of Con A and PHA for proliferation of the splenocytes from mice were from 125 pg/ml to 10 Eg/ml and 2.5 tg/ml to 5.ug/ml, respectively.
2. The blastogenesis responses of the ¢¥splenocytes were enhanced in the sensitized mice than in newly infected mice with live Mtuberculosis. The responses were ¢¥highest at 3 weeks after reinfection and there were no differences in the responses among the sensitized mice.
3. The mitogen-induced blastogenesis responses of the splenocytes were enhanced in the sensitized mice than in newly infected mice with live Mluberculosis. The Con A-induced blastogenesis response was highest at 2 weeks after reinfection and the PHA-induced blastogenesis response was highest at 4 weeks after reinfection. The mitogen-induced responses were more enhanced in the mice sensitized with live M. tuberculosis than in the mice sensitized with heat-killed M. tuberculosis, W-killed M. tuberculosis, or M. bovis BCG.
