Abstract

|
Purpose: This study aims to investigate the status of sexual intelligence, attitude and behavior of the army soldiers and to explore the relationship between sexual intelligence, attitude and behavior. This study focused on sex of the soldiers under the closed situation from the society where not only sex and culture are open, but the sexual values are distorted on the whole.
Methods: In this study, 500 army solders were selected by convenience sampling, currently in the service at the army unit in Daegu and Gwangju. The survey was performed from July to August 2009 with a questionnaire regarding sexual intelligence, attitude and behavior in terms of the sociology of population. The questionnaire was prepared based on the previous study. For analysis of the results, T-test was employed to analyze the difference of sexual intelligence, attitude and behavior according to the general characteristics of each. Also, the correlation between sexual intelligence, attitude and behavior was analyzed by Pearson¡¯s correlation.
Results: The sexual status of the subjects are calculated as percentage of the total: sexual intelligence is 39.43; sexual attitude 65.01; sexual behavior 55.21. In the level of sexual intelligence, the educational background has a significant difference from the level of sexual intelligence that the subjects think. In the level of sexual attitude, there revealed a significant difference between the rank of subjects and subjective level of sexual attitude realized by own. On the level of sexual behavior, the results reveal a significant difference between experiences having sexual education and the level of the subjective sexual attitude and sexual intelligence. The higher sexual intelligence is, the more desirable and positive sexual attitude was; the more desirable and positive sexual attitude was, The more sexual behavior was open.
Conclusion: This study indicated that the sexual intelligence is significantly correlated with the sexual attitude while the sexual attitude is significantly correlated with the sexual behavior.
