Abstract
Anaphylaxis during anaesthesia is a rare event that is estimated to occur in between 1 in 3500 and 1 in 20000 cases. Neuromuscular blocking drugs are thought to be responsible for between 60% and 70% of anaesthesia induced anaphylactic reactions, with either rocuronium or succinylcholine being most commonly implicated. We report a case of a 63-year-old female patient who developed a anaphylactic reaction after administration of rocuronium and was treated with sugammadex.
