Measures for Facilitating Educational Integration of Children with Special Needs

Abstract
The following measures are necessary to facilitate the integration of children with special needs into mainstream education :
(1)Increasing the number of special classes and resource rooms in ordinary schools.
(2)Reducing the number of children per class when with special needs are integrated.
(3)The initial and in-service training of teachers in the area of special needs.
(4)Placing special education teachers and therapeutic teachers in ordinary schools.
(5)Improving the educational environments of ordinary schools such as euipping with convenience facilities.
(6)Running school buses with convenience facilities.
(7)Establishing resource centers for the children with special needs and for the mainstream schools.
(8)Establishing working links between ordinary schools and special schools.
(9)Gaining understanding among families and the local community.
(10)Active involvement of parents in the deliberation and decision-making process.
