Abstract

|
Roles of ACE inhibitors in cardiovascular medicine were studied in 51 cases of hypertention, 10 cases of heart failure and 5 cases of ischemic heart disease. A single dose of Enalapril was administered daily. Diuretics, alpha blocker, beta
blocker
or
calcium channel blocker was added respectively to patients who responded inadequately Enalapril adequately lowered both the systolic and diastolic blood pressures in almost all patients, In patients with congestive heart failure, Enalapril
improved
symtoms and reduced requirements of other medications for heart failure.
The heart rate of patients was not changed significantly and no unwanted effect was observed
We concluded that the ACE inhibitor is safe and improves symptoms adequatetly in patients
