Abstract

Differences in the fate of platedlets between normal and experimentally shocked rabbits were investigated by following the time-course distribution in various organs of in vitro labeled P-32 platedlets after the intravenous injection.
In normal rabbits, initial accumulation of the platelets was noted mostly in the spleen, and at a later stage, gradual shift of the platedlets into the liver was observed.
In contrast to normals, the shocked animals exhibited an initial accumulation mainly in the liver and a later accumulation of the platelets in the spleen.
