Incidence of Parasites in Namwon Area based on an Examination of the Namwon Provincial Hospital Out-patients

Abstract

|
Of 250 samples of feces examined, 87.6% were positive for intestinal helminths. Trichocephalus trchirus was observed most frequenly, in 72.8%. Six other species of helminths found were Ascaris lumbricoides, Hook worm, Clonorchis sinensi, Tape worm, Trichostrongylus orientalis and Oxyuris, listed in decreasing order. Double infections were found more frequently than single infection, and triple infections were also as much as single infection. Hook worm was found more frequently in female than male, but Clonorchis was more in male contraily-Ascaris and Trichocephalus infected in whole ages. Clonorchis and Tape worm were found frequently in 30 to 50 aged group, but there was no hook worm infection in ingantile stage.
