Abstract
Three cases of compression fracture of the thoracic vertebrae due to tetanus were presented.
Diagnosis was reached by the definite X-ray findings of the thoracic vertebrae followed by positive physical signs disclosed by stiff neck trismus nuchal rigidity and opisthotonus.
Roentgenological examination of the thoracic spines showed multiple compression fracture of the thoracic vertebral bodies.
Clinical improvement was obtained with a large doses of tetanus autitoxin, penicillin therapy, muscle relaxants and sedatives in all three.
