A study on Fatigue of Rural residents

Abstract
Seventy households(male: 79, female: 74) which was dwelled in Sa PyOng -ri Nam myon, Hwa Soon gun, Chonnam, were subjected to test for degree of fatigue by question to answer method, Flicker test and blood examination during the period from Jun .18, to Jun. 27, 1975(farmer¢¥s busy season) and from Jan. 7, to Jan. 16, 1976(farmer¢¥s slack) and following results were obtained.
1. 30.4 % of male and 33.8 % of female were complained of present illness that of Neuralgia, Lung T. B, , Hypertension and Liver disease etc.
2. In both sexes, highest frequency of sensory neurotic syndrome was observed in farmer¢¥s busy season than farmer¢¥s slack, and comparing the frequency of complaints in each group was found, as group of sensory neurotic (C) physical group (A)>mental group (B). And also, the higher complaint was observed on the item A and B in male than female. But, in item of C, the higher complaint of "Lumbago" was. observed in female(16..8¢¥%) than male(11.6%).
3. In farmer¢¥s busy season, frequency of subjective fatigue syndrome¢¥ was higher of 40-49, and 50-59 age of groups. in male, and of 4.0.-49 and 30-39 age of groups in female. But in farmer¢¥s slack, frequency of subjective fatigue syndrome was higher of 40-49, and 30-39 age, of groups in both sexes.
4. The average Flicker value was lower in farmer¢¥s busy season(male: 40.1 ¡¾1.9 cycle/sec, famale: 39.5¡¾1.2 cycle/sec) than farmer¢¥s slack(male: 41. 1¡¾1. 7. cycle/sec, female: 40.0=1-2. 1 cycle/sec). And- also, was observed lower value in the afternoon than the forenoon. In both-sexes, the range of Flicker variation was increased in the farmer¢¥s busy seAso-n.
5. Appearence rate of anemia was higher in female(17.0%) than male(13:9 %), and in both sexes, was higher in 30 .49 age- of groups.
