Effect of Ginseng Extract on the Gastric Wall Mast Cells in Mouse

Abstract
The influence of oral pretreatment with ginserg(100 mg/kg x 10doses) and disodium cromoglycate(5 mg/kgx10 doses) on the gastric wall mast cells of the natural saponin(500Img/kg x 1 dose)-treated mice was examined. The following conclusions were obtained.
1. Ginseng alone did not cause significant charges in the total number and degranulationratio in tle gastric wall mast cells, when compared with the control.
2. However, ginseng markedly prevented natural saponin-induced mast cell dcgrarulation and decrease in their total number in stomach wall,
3. Such a massive anti-degrarulatirg resrorse to ratural saponin was also olservcd in the disodium cromoglycate-pretreated group.
These firdirgs suggest tlat gircerg extract rray lave disodium crcm cglycate-like protective action against the forceful egent of degrarulaticn, natural saponin,
