Gastric leiomyosarcoma


Abstract
A53-year-old women was admitted to the hospital. because of mild epigastric pain, severe hematemesis and melena.
About 3 years ago, there was a history of mild epigastric pain, hunger pain and then was received therapy the peptic ulcer.
About 6 months before admission, she found that epigastric mass began to palpable and after then gradually growing the mass, loss of appetite and weight loss.
The findings at laparotomy, there was found adult fist-sized mass in lesser curvature and anterior body of the stomach.
On section of the stomach, a central ulceration of a mass cccurred that penetrated deeply into the tumor with active bleeding.
Microscopical examination disclosed a malignant tumor composed of the mixture of the smooth muscle cells and spindle cells.
Authers present a case of gastric leiomyosarcoma, treated by subtotal gastrectomy and gastr¡©ojejunostomy with chemotherapy and no irradiation, and literatures were reviewed.
