A Case of Tuberculosis in the Oral Cavity Associated with Pulmonary Tuberculosis

Abstract
|
|
|
Tuberculosis in the oral cavity is a rare condition. Since the introduction of effective chemotherapy, tuberculous lesions in the oral cavity are rare. It has been reported to occur mostly in association with tuberculosis with some other tissues,
especially the lungs, and has been called as secondary tuberculosis of the tongue.
We report a case of secondary tuberculosis of the tongue associated with pulmonary tuberculosis in a 57-year-old man.
