Influence of Rehmannial Rhizoma Water Extract on Metabolic Effect of Plasma Glucose and Free Fatty Acid of Rats to Catecholamines

Abstract
|
|
|
RRW, a widly used crud drugs, was chosen because it decrease blood glucose but not influence hyperglycemia of epinephrine.
Influence of Rehmannial Rhizoma water Exract(RRW) on the metabolic effect of plasma glucose and free fatty acids to norepinephrine, epinephrine and isoproterenol was investigated in the rats
The following results were obtained,
1. Large dose of RRW(100mg/Kg) decreased blood glucose and free fatty acid, level, whereas Small dose of RRW(30mg/kg) decreased only blood glucose level after 90min and free fatty acid level increased.
2. Hyper glycermia of Norepinephrine & epinephrine did not blocked by RRW but those of Isoprotenenol was blocked.
3. From these observation it is inferred that hypoglycemic effect of RRW did not blocked α-adrenergic receptor.
