Abstract

|
|
Light microscopic investigation of the fetal kidneys aging from 17 to 36 weeks was carried out. The results were summarized as follows:
1. The glomerular development could be divided into three different stages, and it cam to an end at 36 weeks of fetal age.
2. PAS-positive material in brush border as well as in the cells of the proximal tubules gradually increased after 21 weeks.
3. The distinction between the cortex and the medulla was clearly distinguishable from 18 v eeks, and the thickness of the col te~~ in-creased with fetal age.
