Studies on Sex Chromatin Among Koreans


Abstract
The author has made a study on sex chromatin of the smear obtained from. the oral and vaginal mucosae of 50 sexually intact Korean adult male and female, using Biebrich Scarlet-Fast Green method by Hormez R. Guard.
The results are as follow:
1) The percentage of positive appearance of sex chromatin in the epithelial cells of the oral mucosa is ; 40¢¥?68% .in female (average 51.1%) and 0N-15% (average 4 %) in male.
According to the type distributions percentage in female, marginal type is the most frequent (53.1%), next in order of frequency is submarginal type (28.1%) and bipartite type (8.8). Inmale submarginal type is the most frequency is the bipartite type (40.2%) and marginal type is only 0.6%.
2) In smears from the vaginal mucosa, the appearance of sex chromatin is positive in 90,-98% (average 95.9%) and the type distribution shows marginal type, 32.1% and bipartite type, 6.4%
3) Among Koreans, the differentiation of genetic sex by means of the examination of sex chromatin in epithelial cells of the oral and vaginal mucosae prove to he practical.
