Storage Iron Content of Heart in Normal Rabbits

Abstract
|
|
|
The author observed the ferritin and hemosiderin content of the heart in normal rabbits and obtained the following results.
The estimated mean value of ferritin content is 0.171 mg.% and that of hemosiderin 0.180 mg.%. The estimated standard deviation of ferritin content is 0.0887. mg.% and that of hemosiderin 0.0581 mg.%. The ferritin-hemosiderin ratio is 0.95. In this organ, therefore, the hemosiderin content predominate over the ferritin inn amount, this forming a sharp contrast to the liver, spleen and bone marrow.
