Incidence of Intestinal Parasitic Nematoma with Fecal Examination on the Out Patient of Busan University Hospital


Abstract
Authors studies on the incidence of intestinal parasities with fecal examination in 4,164 persons out patient Busan University Hospital, during the period from January to December 1970.
Intestinal parasitic nematoda were treated only four kinds of Ascaris lumbricoides, Trichocephalus trichiurus, Trichostrongylus orientalis and Hook worm, and the methods employed were direct smear and brine flotation method.
Findings were summarized as follows.
1. The positive rate of intestinal nematoda of total was 65.4% among 4,164 persons. The infection rate of Ascaris lumbricoides was 27.2%, Trichocephalus trichiurus 44.8%, Trichostrongylus orientaris 63.4% and Hook worm 6. 3%.
2. The male with 67.4% had definitely higher infection rate than female with 63.4%.
3. The age group of 51-60 years of the male showed highest infection rate of 73.3% and the age group of 61-70 years of the female showed highest infection rate of 72.7% but the age group of 1-10 years of the male and female showed lowest with infection rate of 28.2% and 24.6%.
