Abstract
Authors studied the gas compositions (02, CO) of human intrauterine gas which were collected through cervical canal.
The composition of intrauterine gases mainly depend upon product of endome trial tissue respiration and the other portion of gases are intraabdominal gas and external air which are nearly same proportion of composition.
The method of intrauterine gas collection was modified Rubin test technique with syringe and short blunt 17 gauge needle and cervical adapter. The obtained gases were analyzed by Schlander micro gas analyzer. The results obtained were summarized as follows;
1. Oxygen level of intrauterine gas and air showed no significant disproportion, but carbon dioxide level showed 10 to 20 times higher level than air.
2. Oxygen level of intrauterine gas showed no significant difference among phases(postmenstrual, proliferative, secretory, premenstrual) of menstrual cycle. And level of carbon dioxide in postmenstrual and secretary phase showed slightly higher than other phases.
3. Carbon dioxide level of intrauterine gas in parous women showed slightly higher than nulliparous of it.
4. Intrauterine contraceptive device (LU.C.D.) carrier showed slightly higher level of carbon dioxide than other group (control).
5. Carbon dioxide level of intrauterine gas in lactation amenorrhea group showed slightly higher level compare to primary amenorrhea and postmenopausal women.
6. Younger age group showed high level of carbon dioxide level than other groups.
