Study on PH Drift Variation and Checking Ending Point of Neutralisation in Abestos Filter Sheets

Abstract
The asbestos filter sheets are well known and widely used in industrial, chemical and pharmaceutical fields, also it is known that there are several different kind not only the size of sheets but also qualities.
Most of the producer of the filter sheets .are mentioning classified the qualities of their own sheets, absorption, porosity and flow rate but none of them are describing pH drift during filtration, and alkalinity or end point of neutralisation.
The pH of the solution is quite important factor especially when preparing injections.
It is one of the problem to find out the alkalinity and check out the variation of the pH drift and fixing the stability of pH in the filtrate solution through asbestos filter sheets, even using pharmaceutical made.
In this point of view, this experimental study has done with two kind of different asbestos. filter sheets, test sample A (Frisenette EK) and test sample B (Carlson HP/EK), both of them are made for chemical and pharmaceutical purpose, for to determine the pH drift and find out the necessity what has to be declared the neutralized end point in every each asbestos filter sheets.
The results of the study are as followed;
1) The pH is greatly changed in first part of filtrate solution up to 6.7-6.9 from 3. 00, and the other sheets is changed up to 4. 5 from 3. 00 in the same part of filtrate.
2) Sample A sheets are needed at least more than 136 liters effluent for obtaining original pH 3.00, on the other hand sample B sheets are needed at least more than 56 liters effluent.
3) Generally the pH drift in each asbestos filter sheets are great different and those must be done in anyway fore to declare the neutral end point.
