Study on Extraction of Lead from Plastics (Ⅰ)

Abstract
|
|
|
A study on the amount. of Lead extraction from plastic straws was conducted by the Dept. of Prev. Med, of Kyung.Hee University.
And that in order to know the role of pH and temperature of beverages in which straws were soaked, a series of experimental observation was carried out. The following results were obtained.
1. 3.5-17.3 micrograms of Lead were extracted firm straws.
2. The amount of extracted Lead was changed according to the pH of beverages in which those were soaked and found the more acid beverages extracted more Lead.
3. Very small amount of Lead(2.0-2.1 microgram) was extracted from straws after washing with 4% HAC.
4. Found that the straws which were soaked in beverages more longer, extracted more Lead.
