Abstract

|
Persistence of embryonal thyroglossal duct attributes to the development of thyroglossal duct cyst and fistula. We experienced recently three cases of thyroglossal duct cyst which were removed successfully by Sistrunk´s radical
operation. The histopathological studies of the specimens were confirmed as thyroglossal duct cyst.
