Clinical Observation of Cerebrovascular Accident

Abstract
|
|
|
One hundred five cases of cerebrovascular accident were clinically studied under the hospitalization from 1973 to 1974 at Chung Nam University Hospital. The results were as follows:
1) Cerebrovascular accident was found in 6. 1% of total medical admission. The ratio in male and female was 1. 14 : 1.
2) The peak age incidence was 6 th decade in all patients.
3) Of 105 cases of cerebrovascular accident there were 36 cases of cerebral he-
morrhage (34. 3%), 38 cases of cerebral thrombosis (36.2%), 29 cases of suba-
rachnoid hemorrhage (27.6%) and 2 cases of cerebral embolism (1.9%).
4) Importat precipitating factors in cerebral hemorrhage and subarachnoid hemo-
rrhage were physical and mental activity and in cerebral embolism and throm-
bosis, rest and sleeping.
5) The mortality rate of cerebral hemorrhage was 38.9%, cerebral thrombosis 21. 0% and subarachnoid hemorrhage 28. 1%.
6) Among the fatal cases of cerebrovascular accident 50% wered dead within the first day.
