The Effect of Triterpenoidal Saponin on the Drug Metabolic Rate in Rabbits

Abstract
|
|
|
A white, micro needle-like crystal was obtained in methanol extract from tine leaves of Acanthopana.x Chiisanense Nakaii. This substance which was expected a triterpenoidal glycoside, was studied on the effect of the metabolic rate of the
drug for the influence of the biological activities. This substance was previously offered to rabbits by oral route with 12.5mg/kg, and then tested by the half life of the metabolism of phenacetin. This test have shown in 71.4 minutes with the test group, and compared with 96.3 minutes with the control group, and the maximal value was observed at 6 hours after start of oral administration.
In the average value of the metabolic rate were resulted in 0.97X 10-2 g/min. with the test group, and compared with 0.72X10-2g/min. with the control group. The above two kinds of values of the white crystals isolated from the extract of Acanthopanax Chiisanense Nakai was confirmed the promoting effects of the drug metabolic rate.
