A Study on the Sexual Information and the Need of Sex Education of College Students


Abstract
The purpose of this study was to determine the degree of sexual information and the need of sex education of college students.
The subjects of this study were 200 students from two colleges in Taejeon area from 11 to 23 April, 1988.
The results of this study were as follows:
1. Among the 20 sexual information items, the 15 were answered correctly by over 50.0 % of the respondents.
2. The most frequent sources of sexual information were megazines (37.5 %) and friend (36.5 %).
There have been remarkable differences in sexual information sources of male and female students be showed statistically significant (P <.01).
3. It appeared to be statistically significant for 83.0 % of the male students and 95.0 of the female students needed sex education (P <.05).
4. Concerning the contents of sex education, the first content was `the sexual desire and sexual morality¢¥ (39.5 %), the second was `the relationship of opposite sex¢¥ (22 %), and the third was the marriage and sexual role¢¥ (20 %).
5. In the scores of sexual information by the sexual information sources, the first was megazines, the second was friend, the third was mascome, the fourth was family, and teachers and showed statistically significant (P < .01).
