Abstract
Subcortica( dementia refers to clinical syndrome characterized by slowing of cognition, memory disturbance, visuospatial abnormalities an-d variable psychiatric symptoms.
Psychiatric abnormalities are frequent in sub-cortical dementia which include personality change, depression, lability of mood and delusion.
Dementia especially subcortical dementia exhibit depressive symptoms frequently. So a major diagnostic problem concerns the differentiation of dementia from mood disorder, especially depression.
Authors reported a case of subcortical dementia assocciated with neuropsychiat.ric symptoms, and ¢¥review some literatures about. the issues of diagnosis and treatment for these patients.
