Roentgeno-Cephalometric Studies on the Vertical Face Height in Korean


Abstract
The prime objective of this studies was to investigate the standards of vertical face height in 244 normal Korean by means of serial norma lateral cephalometric radiography.
Various skeletal subdivisions of human anterior face height. have been measured during a decade of c:ildhood and adolescence; Nasion=Anterior Nasal Spine, Anterior Nasal.Spine-A,. A-Upper Alveolar Junction, Upper Alveolar Junction-Lower Alveolar Junction; Lower Alveolar Junction-B,. B-Guathion, Upper Face (Nasion-A), and Middle Face (A-B).
The statistical measurements were made-at right angles to the Frankfort, horizontal plane paralleling through each points.
The following conclusions were obtained from this studies;
1. The standard values of vertical face height in Korean- were calculated -statistically.

2. Generally, the findings suggested that the, face height in Korean showed gradual increases with! age and increment rates of male was greater than those in female.
3. None of intertrait relationships(r) between the vertical face height and age was found.
4. The vertical face height of complete denture wearers was reduced as compared with 20 years of normal adolescence group.
