Fracture and Dislocation of the Midtarsal Joint
Abstract
The mechanism of injury and treatment of the midtarsal fracture-dislocation have been descrived little in the literature because of its rarity and anatomical structureof wide joint surface of the tarsal joints and strong inter-osseous ligaments with little mobility.
The three cases of fracture and dislocation of the midtarsal joint are avulsion fracture of the navicular tubercle due to abduction, subluxation of the midtarsal joint due to compression injury, and a complefe plantar dislocaion with vertical navicular fracture due to adduction.
These three cases are reported about its mechanism of injury, diagnosis and treatment with a little references.
