One of the first immunologic facts that was established about homotranspiants was the observation
made by Medawar that after the application of skin grafts in rats rejection occured 7 or 8th days. Histopathoological findings of homologous skin graft were observed at postoperative 17th day. Following results were obtained.
1. On the microscopic findings of the graft bed, there were marked increase of lymphocytes, fibrocytes, and moderate increase of plasma cells, macrophages, neutrophils, and formation of capillary net work and engorgement of lymphatic vessels on the graft bed and muscle layer.
2. On the microscopic findings in the Liver, there were moderate congestion and lymphatic infiltration around portal vein.
3. On microscopic findings of kidney and adrenal gland, there were no remarkable changes.
