A Study on the Subjective Fatigue Symptoms of Workers in an Iron and Steel Making Industry


Abstract
Phsical, mental and neuro-sensory subjective fatigue symptoms were investigated by questionnaire form on 492 iron and steel industrial workers and 204 clerks, in order to acess fatigue caused by working.
The data by age and duration of work were collected.
The following results were obtained.
The mean frequency of subjective fatigue symptoms; the subjects were high than the controls before and after work in all the symptoms.
The mean frequency of subjective fatigue symptoms by age; in case of subjects before work, all the symptoms showed an increasing tendency as age was increasing and in case of subjects after work, mental and neuro-sensory symptoms in the above 30 year groups showed a decreasing tendency.
The mean frequency of subjective fatigue symptoms by duratron of work; ;in case of subjects before and after work, all the symptoms showed an increasing tendency as duration of work was increasing.
The results of correlation and regression analyses between subjects and controls, in the all symptoms were as followed.
before work; r=0.5606, y=0.6517x+9.6179
after work: r=0.8541, y=0.87542+19, 8015
